Come aboard for a look at life on and along the Mississippi River. The steamboat era that flourished in the 1800s is remembered. Clam
shells and pearls once were a boom business. Locks and dams made navigation
easier, but they forever changed the face of the river. "River rats"
recall the days of making a living on the Mississippi. Parts of the
Gesell Photo Collection are used throughout the show, and they show
work and play on the river in the late 1800s. |
