| At a place known as Moundville, are some
structures quite perfect in their shape and outline. They are in the oak-openings, on the west side of the river, in townshipfourteen, range nine; and consist of several raccoons and bears, with oblong and round mounds, and one animal form (Fig. 27), whose genus and species could not well be made out. |
